After paying over the odds for a Valentine’s dinner in Bangkok last week, I thought I’d continue in the same vein and get all loved up with 5 sexy places around the world. If you’re trying to lure your sweatheart into bed or thinking of popping the questions, I’ve got 5 tailor-made spots waiting just for you:

Paris:

I took an ex-girlfriend here for an anniversary a while back, it was awesome (although apparently not awesome enough!).  No doubt though that a map of romantic destinations across the globe is incomplete without Paris. Paris has been a hive of romantic activities and a hub for lovers for decades. The ambience and attractions of Paris get even the coldest of girls going, this is a no-brainer. Who cares about clichés when your drinking wine on a balcony staring at the Eiffel tower.

St Lucia:

Gotta include the Caribbean, right?! The magnificent volcanic peaks known as the Pitons, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are among the most arresting natural sights you’ll see in the Caribbean. Soaring almost 3, 000 feet out of the ocean, these forest-swathed wonders can be seen from many points on St. Lucia, fast becoming one of the region’s go-to spots for honeymooners and the soon-to-be-betrothed. Cocktails on the beach, with your mrs in a bikini, yes please.

Buenos Aries:

Buenos Aires oozes passion, especially when you catch a Tango performance on the street. The streets are a sensual mix of European elegance and Latin American seduction, with monumental architecture, tree-lined boulevards, and al fresco dining. It’s perfect for promenading, and a place that provokes unexpected desires. And if it all goes wrong, there are more than enough beautiful Argies waiting to soften the blow.

Venice:

The city of narrow cobblestoned streets, graceful palazzi, sleek gondolas and, of course, Casanova is a time-honored setting for amore. And the Venetian island of Giudecca has always had extra-special appeal for lovers, given its panoramic vistas of the lagoon, including the Doge’ s Palace and Piazza San Marco.  Accommodation is plentiful with Oh-Venice apartments, high-end hotels boutique hotspots. An old dude singing Italian songs, with your partner in on a Venice gondola ride, you’re all good.

Cape Town:

Cape Town, the Mother City at the tip of the great African Continent, is fast becoming a hotspot for proposals. If you want luxurious accommodation, awe-inspiring scenery, a world of fun and exciting activities, beautiful beaches, magnificent wildlife and the best shopping, eating, and nightlife venues then you can’t beat Cape Town. Table mountain, on Valentines Day – guaranteed success!

  2. Paris is the most romantic place in the world! It is a city, that can melt even an icy heart. 🙂 By the way, another very romantic city is Vienna.

      1. Loved you up until now! I love traveling the world but as Oscar Wilde said ‘when you become tired of London you are tired of life’. It is almost definitely the best city in the world

        1. hey katy,

aaagh, how do i win back the love?! lol I dunno what it is about London, and the UK (i went to uni in england), but the media, the negativity, and the weather – that sh*t all gets me down :S Although, then again who am i to argue with Oscar Wilde, a fellow irishman!

          1. It returns now I know you’re Irish .. I was assuming (based on no real reasons) that you were American. I am from an Irish family, although I’ve never been!
