Babe 18 Taipei
After an amazing 5 days in Taipei, from drinking cocktails while overlooking Taipei 101 at Frank Bar, to hiking Elephant Mountain for the most amazing city views, and even checking out the toilet-themed Modern Toilet restaurant, Taipei had been good to me! Partying in Frank was a real highlight, so when I heard Fly (the owner of Frank) also owned a club around the corner, we were keen to check it out, so off we went to Babe Club, Taipei.
We had a table organised in advance so we made our way over around midnight, and by the time we arrived the place was super full already. I’d recommend getting bottles and a table reserved so you can skip the queue, and the prices are really affordable so split it with your friends and you’re good to go.
The dress code is smart casual. No need, necessarily, for shoes and shirts, but I was wearing them and felt pretty smart. T-shirts and smart sneakers are fine too. The music is loud, the crowd are fun, and people are ready to drink! It’s a fun, raucous night which, let’s be honest, is the only sort of night you should ever plan when you’re traveling!
Think DJs on the stage, crowd bouncing on the dance floor, tables and booths dotted around the dance floor and alcohol-girls walking around feeding you booze straight from the bottle. It was fun, that’s for sure.
Where is Babe 18?
Babe18 is right beside Frank, so pre-drink there, then walk over. It’s also located in the Att2Fun building right beside Taipei 101. If you’re taking the MRT underground, get out at the Taipei 101 stop on the red line, it’s about 5 minutes walking from there.
Babe 18 Opening Hours
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10pm to 4am.
The real winner here though is the Thursday and Sunday. Often clubs in Taipei can be a little quiet on Thursdays and Sundays, but not Babe18, so if you want to party any night of a long weekend, this place will be jammed full of people. Of course Friday and Saturday are banging too, so, by all means, go then, but if you’re a little thirsty on Thursday and Sunday too, know that you won’t be alone in Babe18!
The People
I love Taiwanese people. It’s such a different culture from mainland China. Everyone was so friendly, and I’m not sure what it is about partying in Asia but even though communication can be difficult, when it comes to booze, drinking with new friends is brilliant here. And boy do they like to drink!
The crowd is a little younger than Frank, and it’s not so high-end, which works well as the night starts to get a little hazy. So cut loose and enjoy yourself. Everyone else will be doing the same, thing!
So there’s your night on the town sorted for your first party night in Taipei! Shilin nightmarket for food and beers, Frank for a classy cocktail and amazing views, finished off with getting a little wild at Babe18. Have fun, and enjoy that hangover. You earned it!
