Four Different Activity Holiday Ideas

Are you starting to look into your next holiday? Instead of doing the usual city break, beach break, or cruise, why not try something different? Book yourself an activity holiday and benefit from doing something physical and challenging and you’ll gain a real sense of accomplishment. Many activity holidays are designed for a whole range of skill levels, so don’t worry if you are a beginner, intermediate, or expert. When it comes to choosing which type of activity holiday you should go for, there are many options – hiking, skiing, surfing or diving as well as several others. Below we look into four different activity holiday ideas for you to consider.

Book a hiking trip

Hiking offers you a way to explore different areas, it gets you active, there are many routes that you can take and you can do it with your friends and family members. You could take on Santiago Ways Camino de Santiago or you could arrange to do your own hiking trip. The prices of a hiking trip vary depending on the location you would like to visit and the length of time you are travelling. Hiking is something different to do and you’ll get to travel to places that are not possible unless on the hike. Our tip, don’t forget to bring a camera!

Book a ski trip

Take on the slopes and book a skiing or snowboarding holiday. There are plenty of destinations that you can visit, all offering their own unique benefits. Chamonix is beautiful but can be expensive, whilst some areas in France can be more affordable. Most slopes will be graded allowing all levels of skiers to enjoy. If you are a complete beginner you can always book lessons on your holiday or try some dry slopes at home to get the hang of things.

Book a diving trip

Have you considered booking a diving trip? Diving allows you to see a whole range of marine life as well as relax on white sandy beaches during your downtime. There are a whole plethora of diving places that you can visit from Queensland in Australia to Barbados in the Caribbean or Alcudia in Majorca. The weather will vary during the year, so make sure you research this before committing to a certain location.

Book a surfing trip

Enjoy a challenging trip away, surfing the waves, trying to complete more difficult ones as the trip goes on. You’ll meet like-minded people and get to experience destinations that you may have never visited before. Most destinations will offer lessons if you are new to surfing as well as group trips for experienced surfers. Just like skiing, you may find with a little research there are places at your home destination that offer lessons that you can do before your holiday. Why not convince your friends and get them to join you in some lessons and the holiday?

Have you tried any of the above activity holidays? If yes, which one have you tried? Is there another activity break that you would like to share with our readers? Let us know in the comment box below.
