Staying connected to the internet at all times is a necessity in the times we live in. No one can compromise being disconnected for too long. You don’t want to miss out on the latest trending cat videos on Youtube now do you? Living in RVs has its charm that one just can’t deny. You are away from all the stress that city life brings you. And, you can move anywhere you want with your mobile home. But many a times, that means having to be totally disconnected from the world because you may not have internet facilities. Luckily, there are measures you can take to ensure that you do and we’ve gathered some of them for you.

Using Mi-Fi or hotspot

Mi-Fi, or better known as mobile Wi-Fi is when you turn your mobile device into a wireless service provider. Or, you can create a hotspot via tethering or a dedicated hotspot device provided by an ISP. Both of these options essentially help do the same thing. But be warned, the strength of the connection largely depends on the network you’ve chosen.

Comcast is one of the most popular internet service providers in the U.S and they have many packages you can choose from. These guys are always looking to expand their reach. And that’s why you should look into what Comcast has to offer and go through this review about Comcast Xfinity prices and packages. It should give you a pretty good idea as to what Comcast has in stock for you.

Use RV park Wi-Fi

There are dedicated RV parks in many places and they have just about what you need for you to be living in a mobile home. Internet connection is among that. Most RV parks provide you with Wi-Fi services however, at times they might be too slow. This is because of throttling and that limits how much data you can use. Regardless, there are numerous RV parks in the states and their coverage and reception is improving.

Use Wi-Fi boosters

Places where you can get free Wi-Fi are often ridiculed with a large number of users and low reception. Or if not that, perhaps the antennas are just not equipped with the power and range. This is where these Wi-Fi boosters, repeaters or extenders come into play. Place the antennas on your rooftops and you’ll get much better and stronger signals than before.

Satellite internet

Connections via satellite internet ensure that you stay connected wherever you are. And that is precisely what people in mobile homes need. However, this can be a double edged sword. Satellite internet has improved and you get much better speeds now than before. HughesNet and Viasat has packages going up to 25 and 100 Mbps. However, these packages can be quite expensive for some and there aren’t many providers in the market right now. Additionally, satellite internet requires more than just a traditional small antenna.

Public Wi-Fi

There are many places where you can find free Wi-Fi, for example a library. From privacy and security point of view, free and public Wi-Fi has its concerns. However, if you’re in a jiffy and don’t much care about those reasons then free Wi-Fi can get you out of a jam. It’s an easy and essentially free way of being connected to the internet world, provided you can bear with the low speeds and throttles. Note that at times, public Wi-Fi ends up giving you low speeds because it limits the usage ever user is allowed.

Mobile signal boosters

Cell phone signal boosters are devices that, well as the name suggests, boost your signal reception. It is an extremely handy device that can be of extreme value, especially when you’re in a pickle with 1 or 2 bars only. Note that these boosters can only amplify signals if there is a signal to be amplified. Places where you do not get any reception will not be magically turned into a LTE zone with these.

Coffee shops, restaurants and other private businesses

Unlike public spaces, private businesses are a little selective about sharing their Wi-Fi. Part of the appeal of living in an RV is getting to try out new things and that means going to these coffee shops, restaurants etc. You too can get access to their Wi-Fi connection. However, it too will probably not be unlimited. But, places like these are quite a good solution for, say, completing a little research or writing a report under a deadline.
