Sicily Is The Place To Go For The Ultimate Villa Holiday
Sicily is one of the best places on the planet for the perfect summer holiday in the sun. I have been lucky to visit on several occasions and each time I leave I can’t wait to get back!
The best way to get the full experience is to rent one of the awesome Sicily villas by the sea. You get absolute luxury, in the best locations which are surrounded by beaches and top sights. Here are 5 of the best villas you can rent next time you go to Sicily.
Menfi-Portopalo, West Sicily
The villa has the best views you’ll find of the Portopalo coastline, a well-known destination for wine lovers, due to its raised location you can enjoy stunning panoramic views. Inside Essence you have everything you’d expect and more from a luxury villa, set the in the perfect surroundings of the Mediterranean countryside with the beautiful sandy beaches just a stone’s throw away. One of the things I love about the villa are the huge floor to ceiling windows, they make the villa seem super spacious swell as offering the stunning views wherever you turn.
When you’re not too busy taking in the jaw dropping views you can cool off in the large swimming pool, soak up the sun on the outside terrace or head down to the basement where you can have fun in the games room – amazingly it has a full size snooker table down there too!
Selinunte, West Sicily
Set in the countryside and close to both archaeological parks of Selinunte and Marinella di Selinunte, Casa Melograno is one of the best villas in Scilly. The property is a beautiful old house in keeping with the Selinunte countryside. Despite the villa having a long history it has been recently renovated by the owners, the attention to detail means it retains its old feel whilst having all the modern features needed for a luxurious holiday. I love how they used local materials, especially the use of terracotta for the roofing and flooring inside the villa.
You will be able to enjoy stunning panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and the sea, which is only a couple of kilometres away. After exploring the coastal surroundings you can chill out by the large swimming pool with your group, even by the pool you’ll have beautiful views as you look over the countryside.
Marsala-Mothia, West Sicily
This stunning modern villa is located on a hillside which provides guests with amazing panoramic views of Trapani, one of the best coastal provinces in Sicily. The views are unparalleled, so much so that you can see the coastline all the way from Marsala to Erice. The villa was named because you can also see seven islands, the islands are also knows as the Egadi Islands.
The villa is extremely spacious and offers the ultimate in modern open plan living. When my group visited the thing, apart from the views, that blew us away were the heated outdoor pool, the spa complex and the BBQ area which we used every single night whilst watching the sunset. If you want your holiday to be a memorable one then you should definitely be checking in to the Seven Islands Villa.
Siracusa, East Sicily
The Siracusa Retreat is an 18th century farmhouse that has been beautifully renovated over the last 12 months. Ideally located between Siracusa and the Plemmiro marine reserve, there is a lot that makes this villa stand out over other options in eastern Sicily. This region is famous with locals and tourists because of the sweeping sandy beaches that can be found amongst the rocky coastline, it is also home to arguably the number one archaeological site in the whole of Sicily.
This villa has an outdoor pool which is boarded by a beautiful garden, the perfume of the flowers add to the relaxing feel of the outdoor area. Guests love it here when the sun starts to set because you can sit outside on the terrace watching the sun go down – make sure you have your camera to hand because I guarantee you’ll want to capture this breath taking view.
Castellammare del Golfo, West Sicily
If you’re looking for luxury combined with the perfect beach holiday then Villa Perla is the one for you. It is situated in a quiet, affluent residential area – with perfectly kept gardens and just a short distance to both the Guidaloca beach and Scopello beach, there’s no way anyone can’t fall in love with this villa. The interior of Villa Perla has been designed beautifully, it has great open plan living with all the modern appliances that you could desire.
The outside area is just as awesome as the inside! The pool is huge, the decked area is ideal for soaking up the sun and if you need to cool down with a cocktail then the terrace provides the shade you need. One of the best things about the villa is that once you walk outside the gate, you walk down a path and you hit the beach in two minutes. At the beach you have access to all the club features; deck chairs, drinks service and much more. If you love the beach and the pool then I can’t recommend Villa Perla enough.
