If you make it to the USA, the chances are that you’ll probably end up in New York. But rather than getting caught up in the increasingly touristy Manhattan, the nearby state New Jersey offers a much better chance to get a taste of the real America.

There’s a fierce rivalry between the two states. But as New Jersey has attractions that range from the glittering casino destination of Atlantic City to the beautiful beaches of Jersey Shore, it seems like a great idea to fly into Newark Airport and check out this typically American state.

Although New Jersey is a very populous county, it doesn’t have any cities that rival nearby New York or Philadelphia. But whilst Atlantic City may not be a sprawling metropolis, it more than makes up for it by being the biggest gambling destination on the East Coast.

As well as the renowned casinos like Bally’s, the Borgata, and Caesar’s, the resort has plenty of other attractions like aquariums and a world-famous rollercoaster that should be capable of providing a few thrills.

For further relaxation, be sure to check out the 141-mile coastline that makes up Jersey Shore. With quaint seaside towns like Wildwood and upmarket places like Spring Lake, it shows the wild diversity that can be found in this wonderful state.

If you somehow manage to tire of New Jersey’s beautiful beaches , then heading inland can reveal many other treasures. Whereas the Grounds for Sculpture attraction near Trenton will delight art lovers thanks to its wonderfully exhibited sculptures that are perfectly displayed within the charming gardens.

For fans of the great outdoors, the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area offers a great starting point for the Appalachian Trail. And the wonderful Millbrook Village will give you a 19th century themed way of catching your breath after enjoying the outdoor activities that include some exhilarating kayaking action.

So whether you’re into casino entertainment or want to uncover more about the historical legacy of the state, New Jersey is a great place to spend some time!
