The eVisa Turkey is one of the things that you need to prepare if you plan to visit for business or leisure, to sign a deal or ride a hot air balloon in Cappadocia. It will allow you to stay in the country for up to 90 days, but, of course, with certain restrictions. Obtaining an eVisa for Turkey isn’t tedious and time-consuming since there are not too many requirements, and the process is straightforward.

eVisa Turkey: A Step-by-Step Guide

FIRST CHECK IF YOU NEED A VISA FOR TURKEY HERE: https://www.evisa.gov.tr/en/apply/ – many nationalities fon’t need it.

While there are residents of certain countries who can enter Turkey without a visa, only some countries can apply for an eVisa. If you’re qualified, below are the essential pieces of information you need to keep in mind to obtain an eVisa for Turkey successfully.

The Requirements

As with any visa application, the requirements would usually depend on your country of origin or residency. That’s why it’s important to know what type of an eVisa you would need before applying for one.

General Requirements

You would need to have the following on hand no matter what your citizenship is if you’re applying for an eVisa to enter Turkey:

  • Valid Passport

A passport is considered valid if it hasn’t expired yet. If it’s about to expire, the expiry date should at least be 60 days away from the last day of the visa’s validity.

For example, there should be 90 days more remaining before your passport’s expiry date if you’ve been given a 30-day visa. This rule will ensure that you can exit the country on or before the visa’s validity or expiration.

  • Active email Address

Since you’re applying for an e visa Turkey online, you need to have an active email address for communication purposes. It is where you’ll receive confirmation codes, the result of your application, and your visa once approved.

  • Credit, Debit, or Other Means of Paying Online

It’s no secret that any visa comes with a fee. Since you’re applying online, you must have your card or online payment channel information ready.

  • Health Declaration Form

As of writing, you would also need to fill out and submit the online health declaration form, which is a requirement added because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Conditional Requirements

Apart from the basic requirements above, permanent residents or citizens of countries qualified for a conditional eVisa should prepare the following:

  • Ireland, USA, UK, or Schengen residence permit or visa, except for Zambia and Gabon nationals
  • Hotel reservation
  • Financial capacity proof (at $50/day of stay)
  • Return or round-trip ticket
  • Traveling via airlines that met Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs protocols, except nationals of Philippines, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan

Suppose you’re applying for a business or visit Turkish e visa via an invitation from a relative, friend, organization, or company. In this case, you must present an invitation letter signed by the inviter. The letter should have the following information:

  • Inviter’s identification
  • Names of invitees
  • Purpose of stay
  • Length of stay
  • Inviter-invitee affinity (visit visa)
  • Inviter’s Turkish Resident (TR) identity number
  • Company or organization’s Tax Registration Certificate (business visa)
  • Inviter’s contact information (address and phone number)
  • Inviter’s pledge to cover the invitee’s food, accommodation, and other expenses

The DIY Process

Once you’ve prepared everything you need, switch on your computer, tablet, or phone, connect to the internet, and follow the steps below. One thing to remember is that you might be able to complete this process more conveniently using an online visa service such as iVisa.

Step #1: Fill Out the Application Forms

Visit the Turkey eVisa page. Choose the language you prefer or you’re most comfortable with if you’re bilingual or multilingual. Currently, there are nine different languages for you to choose from.

Choose your country or region of origin, your travel document, and then verify that you’re human. Click on Save and Continue.

Next, fill out the application form, ensuring the information you provide matches your travel document information. Also, attach other supporting documents if you need to.

Once done, wait for an email confirmation, which will usually take a few minutes. As with any email, check your Spam folder in case you haven’t received one in your Inbox. The email you will receive should have a link, so just click on it to redirect you to the eVisa application page.

Step #2: Pay the Necessary Fees

You will then be asked to pay for a Turkish visa online application fee. The amount would depend on your country of origin, ranging from €14 ($16) to €71 ($84).

All you have to do is choose your preferred mode of payment and enter the required information. The website will then inform you that you will receive your Turkey visit or business eVisa if the payment was successful.

Again, check your email from time to time. You can also use the provided confirmation code sent to your email to check the status of your application. Processing time will take as short as 24 hours to as long as 72 hours.

Step #3: Download and Print Your Approved eVisa

Once you receive an email stating that you got approved, click the button provided to redirect you to the eVisa Turkey website. You’ll get provided with a PDF eVisa that we suggest you download on your phone or tablet that you will bring during your travel. You may also print the doc to have a hard copy.

Even if the visa’s already linked to your passport electronically, taking such steps has its share of benefits. You can present either or both if there would be problems at the immigration’s computer terminals at the airport.

The Alternative Process

We understand that some of you might not have the time to apply for an e visa Turkey online, even if it only takes a few minutes. Don’t worry; there is an alternative legal option.

However, it would require you to pay an additional fee and entrust your information and documents to a third party. It’s also best that you apply earlier than the recommended time frame we discussed above.

Nowadays, many agencies offer visa assistance. They’ll apply on your behalf and communicate with you whether or not you got approved. Just make sure that you choose an accredited and licensed agency to avoid being scammed.

The Turkish Visa Online Process: In Conclusion

Overall, the process of obtaining a Turkish eVisa, whether doing it on your own or with the help of an agency, is easy and quick as long as you have the complete requirements. It’s also best to have the supporting documents and a soft or hard copy of your Turkish e Visa on hand to have a smooth entry to the country.

Additionally, as of writing, make sure that you have your proof of COVID-19 vaccination and/or negative COVID-19 test results ready before traveling to Turkey. To stay updated regarding this specific protocol, check the embassy website days before your travel. Good luck!
