5 Can’t Miss Things To Do In The UAE
Table of contents
The United Arab Emirates (or UAE) stands out as one of the most popular destinations for luxury tourists. Its massive skyscrapers and golden sand deserts make it one of the hidden gems of the world. For those seeking adventure and luxury in one getaway, there may be no other destination that comes close. You should make plans on what you can do for an upcoming trip to the UAE, whether it’s spending the week in Dubai or Abu Dhabi. There are so many things that you don’t want to miss doing (five to be specific).
The Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain Show
The iconic Burj Khalifa is the tallest building on the planet. Imagine waking up in our room at one of the top-rated luxury hotels in UAE, only to be greeted by the view of this towering behemoth that may be considered the crown jewel of Dubai. Make your way up to the 148th floor, where you can visit the “At The Top SKY” lounge, where you can see sweeping views of the city skyline and the desert.
When the evening falls, make sure you check out the Dubai Fountain Show. You’ll see a choreographed ballet of water synced with music and lights situated on the Burj Lake. The best time to check out this show is at sunset, when it can be less crowded and the vibe is a bit more magical.

The Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi
If you’re in Abu Dhabi, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque is an architectural masterpiece that you’ll want to visit. It boasts 82 domes, more than 1000 columns, and a chandelier that features countless numbers of Swarovski crystals that ooze absolute luxury. Modern opulence and traditional design come together here at a place that may be considered one of the most visited mosques in the Islamic world. Even if you are non-Muslim, you can still visit this place and take part in a guided tour to learn the history of the place.
To note, there is a dress code that you’ll need to follow, so dress modestly and give yourself plenty of time to explore the Grand Mosque, especially when you don’t want to miss out on the reflecting pools and the exterior gardens that give this massive building a bit more of that eye-catching charm.
Dune Bashing and Desert Glamping
Of course, the UAE is more than just massive architectural wonders. You can head to the outskirts of the cities and go on a desert safari adventure. That’s where you can go on a 4×4 ride through the golden sands, ride on a camel, or even go sandboarding. After your desert adventure, you can wind down with a dinner under the stars. Desert glamping is perhaps one of the fastest-growing activities among luxury travelers, and places like Qasr Al Sarab or Al Maha may be some of the best places to camp out in the desert.
Spend Time On The Beaches
Yes, the UAE has some awesome-looking beaches that are situated among the pristine waters. These include Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah, both of which are quiet places where you can escape to if you want to spend the day away from the hustle and bustle of Abu Dhabi or Dubai. You can go on a snorkeling adventure in the Gulf of Oman or visit one of the beachside spas where you can get a massage and a luxury treatment that may rival the spas you’ve visited in the past.
Shopping At World-Class Shopping Malls
The Dubai Mall or Mall of the Emirates is home to world-class shopping experiences like no other. Did you know that the Mall of the Emirates has its own indoor ski slope? Maybe before or after you shop at one of the many luxury fashion stores, you could “hit the slopes”. Other places in the UAE that you might want to check out include the Souk Madinat Jumeirah, which is based on a traditional Arab marketplace that has well-lit walkways, luxury boutiques, and much more for an unforgettable luxury experience that is unmatched compared to other travel destinations.
Final Thoughts
The United Arab Emirates has plenty of luxury experiences for travelers like you. But you do not want to miss out on the awesome must-do things that you can enjoy. Whether it’s skiing in a shopping mall or camping in the desert, the UAE makes it possible. Who says that you can’t go on a luxurious desert adventure? Because of the warm weather year-round, it may be a great place to travel to at any time during the year. No matter when you go, use the list above to enhance your entire UAE experience.
