Rishikesh is one of the most visited places in India- all thanks to the calmness, spirituality, tranquility, and serenity it provides at the river banks of the holy river, Ganga. A hotspot of foreigners, Rishikesh is the place offering too much yet too less. From adventure sports to meditating in the ashrams, there is a lot Rishikesh offers to its visitors.

So, here are some of the places listed that you can visit in the spiritual city of Rishikesh and make your visit memorable. 

 

At the congruency of three rivers- Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, Triveni Ghat is one of the most crowded ghats in Rishikesh. Many people go there for a bath at the river bank and wash the sins out. In the evening, you can go there and attend the Ganga aarti and see a whole another spiritual and holy display. The lamps lightning the river of Ganga will make everything spiritual and serene at the same time. Moreover, you can go to the markets near the ghat for shopping. You can also buy some precious stones from there too.

Rejuvenate your body at the Neer Waterfall

Not too far from the main city of Rishikesh, there is a mesmerizing waterfall called as Neer Waterfall- pouring water from the mountains. To reach the waterfall pouring sky-blue water, you have to trek to the top. The waterfall is captivating plus beautiful which will leave you awestruck- pure plus tranquility. From the hustle-bustle of the city, you can go out there and after trekking to the top- just enjoy the serenity. You can also take a bath in it and rejuvenate your soul after splashing into the cold water. No matter what, every visitor will spend quality time at this place near Rishikesh. You can also unleash your photography skills at the place- Neer Garh Waterfalls, it is!

Travel from Lakshman Jhula and Ram Jhula

Just 4km away from the Rishikesh’s railway station, there is a 450ft long bridge over the holy river Ganga- Lakshman and Ram Jhula. When you hear the word “Rishikesh”, Lakshman and Ram Jhula are the things that straightly strike your mind. So, visiting these bridges and traveling through them will surely entertain you. Moreover, while traveling through it, you can enjoy the river Ganga waves and the fury of the holy water flowing beneath you. You can also visit Ram Temple, Lakshman Temple and Trayambakeshwar Temple which are near the bridge- at the ends only. Trayambakeshwar temple is an architectural marvel in itself with 13 stories- so you can go there and seek blessing from the god almighty at this architectural marvel.

 

Visit Beatle Ashram and sit back in the serene environment

The famous band, Beatles, when came to India, visited the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ashram and meditated there. Some say the band wrote some of their songs at this place too. After that only, the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ashram got the status of Beatles ashram. The tranquility, serenity, and calmness of the place purify every moment and spreads some magic in your body. Meditating at this place will definitely spellbound you and make you fall in love with it. Also, you can check the hall where the myth, the legend- the Beatles meditated.

Bring your adventure junky out at Jumpin Heights

Not only spirituality and serenity, but Rishikesh is also known for the adventure activities it provides to its visitors. Rishikesh is probably the paradise for the adventure junkies. If you want to bring the adrenaline rush, you can head to the Jumpin Heights. From Bungee Jumping, flying fox to giant swing, you can try all these adrenaline-pumping adventurous sports at there. So, you can go there with your friends and try them out- if you are looking at something adventurous at Rishikesh.

Enjoy your own company at Swarg Ashram

Just near the Ram and Lakshman Jhula, there is lies the oldest ashram of India known as Swarg Ashram. It is one of the most visited places by foreigners in the city of Rishikesh. It was built in the memories of Swami Vishudhanand. You can go there and meditate in the calm natural beauty. Also, try to stay there at sunset and see the sun going down. You can also attend yoga and meditation sessions to make most of your visit to the Swarg Ashram.

Camping at Shivpuri

Located 19km away from the city of Rishikesh, Shivpuri is one of the best places to visit in Rishikesh. Most of the visitors go there for camping- Camping at the river bank. Also, you can also play some adventurous sports like river rafting, trekking, and boating. You can also go for overnight jungle camping and visit the Sakhya Sagar Lake and Karera Bird Sanctuary. Ending the trip at this place by spending your weekend there will surely make each moment count.
