Come To Turkey With Me, Help Empower Women and Ride A Hot Air Balloon in Cappadocia
As many of you guys know, I decided to start a non-profit called Mudita Adventures to try to use my blog and my social media for something good. Since then we’ve donated about $200,000USD to build projects like water-wells in Ethiopia, kindergartens in Myanmar, and Dormitories in Thailand amongst many others. Now it’s time for us to go to one of the most beautiful countries in the world, Turkey! We’ll be doing an amazing charity project in the rural East Turkey, helping empower women in a community there (more on that below), and then having the adventure of a life-time with a HUGE bucket list item available too. So if you’re free June 28th to July 10th, then come help me, and let’s go explore Turkey! My schedule is packed these days, but I’ve freed up my time so I can personally guide this project and travel, so please come help!
THE TRAVEL ADVENTURE
The 2 weeks will take us all across the country. We’ll start in Istanbul, before flying down to the Turkey/Iraqi border where we’ll complete our 3-day charity project (that simply by coming with us, you’ll have helped fund) after that, it’s time to explore. The first stop? The bucket list item to end all bucket list items – an option for HOT AIR BALLOONING IN CAPPADOCIA! You’ve seen the pics, the videos, the insta-shots, now it’s your turn (and mine) to finally do it. Cappadocia is a gorgeous town, so after exploring a little deeper, we head off to Pamukkale. The saltwater pools look like they’re from another planet, so hop in and cool off.
After that, we connect to the coast where we’re in full holiday mode. Cocktails on the beach, celebrating our project and our hard-core overlanding to get here! Don’t worry, we’ll also check out the UNESCO world heritage spot of Ephesus, the ancient Greek City, so you still get your culture points up. Finally, we head back to Istanbul to explore arguably the coolest city in the world! We’ll have our local Turkish friends showing us the hottest spots, and we’ll even take a yacht ride down the Bosphorus, the Asian continent on one side of us, and the European on the other. What a way to finish. Check out these pics to convince ya:
We all here about Turkey and its rapid development, Istanbul has been booming, and holidays to the coast are on everyone’s radar. Unfortunately, that hasn’t stretched to the East of Turkey, and many communities are struggling. Worst still, women’s rights aren’t where we’d like them to be just yet, so we can help in our own little way. A community has reached out to us, to ask to help fund a community kitchen. This kitchen will employ a handful of local mothers where they can then cook traditional food for their extended families, but also start to sell their creations, creating employment, empowerment and a rosier future for their families. Funding is tight, so we need you guys to join us, and by doing so, help fund it. Not only that, we’ll all get to help with the finishing touches within the community, and open the kitchen together with a huge local meal with the ladies. Let’s do it!
COME AND JOIN ME!
So that’s it folks. 13 days on the road, a truly worthwhile way to spend your time and money, and to get to see the best of what Turkey has to offer. We’ll also have a friend of ours, a Turkish videographer, traveling with us the whole time, so you’ll have an amazing video at the end of it all to reminisce with in the years to come.
We have 8 spots left, so if you’re waiting for an idea for your summer adventure, I hope you’ll see that this is it and come and join me. The detailed itinerary and all the info is here. But the gist of it is June 28th to July 10th, 13 days, $1999 plus $300 donation, 15 people, and a whole-lot-of-fun guaranteed! Feel free to message me if you’re keen!
SO YOU’RE A TRUE ADVENTURER HUH? EXTEND YOUR TRIP & COME TO IRAQI KURDISTAN!
For our past volunteers and travelers, they know that at the end of each Mudita Adventure trip, we know there are some hard-core travelers who aren’t ready to go home yet. I understand that better than most! So we’re extending the trip, for a few additional days in Iraq (Iraqi Kurdistan, the ‘safe’ region of Iraq). Let’s see if you’re crazy enough to join us there 🙂
