JOIN OUR 2025 Madagascar Adventure

Each year, I do a number of charity projects through our charity arm, Mudita Adventures. We’ve donated over $300,000 to date, funding projects from Ethiopia to the Philippines. We try to choose countries that offer an epic adventure, but one where we have a worthwhile project to fund and giveback. Our next adventure has all of that and more, Madagascar!

We have a huge opportunity to refurbish a school on the Western coast of beautiful Madagascar, so we’ve curated a wild adventure to get us there. Flying into the Capital, Antananarivo, roadtrip south then a wild 2 day sail boat across the country to bring us to Morondava where the school is. From there we will visit the school, lend a hand, and see where your money has gone to help refurbish the school. Finishing up with Madagascar’s most beautiful sight, the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs. We then hop on a flight back to the Capital to pay the lemurs a visit before jetting back home. How’s that for a plan for August 2025?!

Why Visit Madagascar

Madagascar, an island off the cost of east Africa, is a must-visit for any true adventurer. Kenya, South Africa etc are gorgeous countries. But they are Africa-light! Madagascar is the Africa you grew up thinking about.

Picture this: unique wildlife like lemurs, surreal landscapes with baobab trees, and pristine beaches. It’s a haven for nature lovers and adventurers alike. Explore rainforests, dive into crystal-clear waters, and immerse yourself in the vibrant local culture. Madagascar’s off-the-beaten-path charm promises unforgettable experiences and stories to share for a lifetime.

On top of that, we traverse the country by sail boat, camping under the stars for 2 nights. It’s a wild one.

How about the charity aspect of this trip?

As always with our Mudita Adventure trips, where other companies sell the tickets and use all the money as profit, we fund local projects.

In Madagascar, we will be refurbishing the primary school of Benjamina, in Bemanonga city suburbs, 7 Km away from Morondava. By joining the trip, you’ll be funding the repairing the wall coating, and painting the school. Fixing the windows and shelves. Providing textbooks and paying tuition fees for the director Françoise.

Once we reach Morondava, we’ll visit the school and see all this first-hand.

DAY 3:

Ahoy there captain. We’re on a boat. The real adventure starts here. Pack your sunscreen and your sea legs, we have 2 days on a private boat, traversing the beautiful landscapes and riverways of Madagascar. Few tourists ever get to see this beautiful country from sea level, so we will do our best to soak it up. We’ll have a pitstop at the beautiful Nosy Ampela waterfall before nightfall.

Sunset on the Tsiribihina River while we set up our camp for the night in our comfy tents.

DAY 4:

Day 2 on the gorgeous Tsiribihina River. We make our way further downstream. Music playing, not a cloud in the sky, watching Madagascar life pass us by as we slowly make our way West. We’ll visit both a local village and an ancient tobacco plantation en route.

Our team sets up camp for 1 last night under the stars while we finish off our secret stash of local wine as the sun sets.

DAY 5:

For many this may be the highlight of the trip. Today we reach the , one of the most beautiful ‘roads’ in the world.

First though, we hop off the boat and ride a bumpy 4 hours off road to charming Morondava, we will settle into the hotel and get a very well earned shower and a nap.

Just before sunset, we’ll head over to the Avenue of the Baobabs to watch the sunset on the icon of Madagascar.

DAY 6:

Project day!

Today we visit our partner school school of Benjamina. We will meet with the local headmistress, visit the community and learn about how your attending the trip has afforded them the chance to refurbish their school. We will all be donating much needed school supplies during the visit and lending a hand in any work they need to finalise the project that we’ve funded through this MuditaAdventures.com trip.

DAY 7:

Back to the Capital today. We have a flight booked from Morondava to Antananarivo. Once we land, we have one last bucket list item to tick off before you can see you’ve truly seen Madagascar – the Lemurs!

The ethical park rehabilitates confiscated pets and works with them to reintroduce them to the wild. Very cool, and very very cute!
