Sights in Prague Off the Beaten Path
Prague is known as the “City of Spires”, one of the most beautifully preserved cities in Europe. Make sure to get a Prague transfer from the airport to take you into the city, it’s the best way to get the trip off to a good start. When you are here, you often feel like you are walking inside of a fairy tale. And not only is it so beautiful, but it’s one of the most affordable cities in Europe to visit.
You can stay in Prague, eat and see all the sights for far less cost than many other European capitals. The main tourist sights here include Charles Bridge, Prague Castle and Old Town Square. But these sights can be super crowded during the summer months, so you might want to check out one of these other spots off the beaten path:

Righrovy Sady
The beautiful park in the Vinohrady neighborhood is well-loved by locals and expats who come to walk through the green space and enjoy a beer or “pivo” in the popular beer garden at the top of the hill. The park is great for runners and provides a relaxing space in the middle of the city. And the beer garden is a great place to enjoy some local brew along with Czech sausage with friends. As the sun sets, head to the hill overlooking the city and Prague castle for breathtaking views.
TV Tower in Zizkov
Zizkov is a neighborhood which is quite unique and funky. Here you’ll find plenty of expats making their home, lots of pubs, cafes and coffee shops away from the main tourist attractions of the city. The TV tower is the tallest building in Prague, as well as one of the most bizarre. You’ll see gigantic alien babies crawling up the sides of the tower that were designed as a commentary on the political situation at the time. You can ascend the tower to eat at a cafe overlooking the city with 360 degree views.
Strahov Monastery
Not too many tourists know about the Strahov Monastery overlooking Prague Castle. You can access the monastery by taking a tram from Mala Strana and enjoying the scenic view up. The 12th century monastery has got a fascinating library of books and even a brewery where you can sample some fantastic local beers. Prague is the world capital of beer, after all, so it’s only natural that a monastery here would include a brewery!
Vysehrad
Did you know that the current Prague Castle hasn’t always been the main castle in the city? This smaller castle on a hillside was built in the 11th century and is a great place to relax and take in a different perspective of the city. Explore the gothic cathedral and its elaborate architecture, and you might even catch a summer festival or performance going on around the castle grounds here.
