Arabic is the sixth most spoken language in the world and it is spoken by about 420 million people.  If you are learning Arabic there are many opportunities worldwide to practice.  Here are five beautiful countries where you can try out your language skills.

Egypt

Egypt is a great place to practice your Arabic and see the pyramids.  The best pyramids are located in Giza just outside of Cairo and you can also see the Great Sphinx while you are there.  These manmade buildings that have stood for thousands of years will enthrall all who visit them.

  Iran

Arabic is not the official language in Iran but it is taught in the school curriculum.  Iran is a beautiful place to visit and it is becoming a popular destination for travellers.  Tehran is the capital city and the home of Golestan Palace complex.   If you visit the top of Milad Tower you can see a panoramic view of the city. The most frequented cities are Shiraz, Mashhad, and Isfahan, where you can stroll through many gardens and parks.  These cities have a rich culture and there are many mosques, archeological sites, beautiful architecture, to delight travellers.  Be sure to visit a bazaar and view or purchase the beautiful Persian rugs. Visit   Travel to Khuzestan  and visit  Shushtar Historical Hydraulic System, a more than 2000 year old marvel of engineering.  Take a day trip to Alborz where you can go hiking or skiing.     Kish Island is also a very popular destination with its tropical waters.

Morocco

Travel to Morocco and experience the beauty of Marrakech, a walled city that has stood since medieval times.  Go for a walk and wander past palaces, mosques, and wonderful gardens.  The marketplace is a network of alleys and you can pick up local pottery, richly coloured textiles, exotic aromatic spices, and jewelry. There are also fortune tellers, strolling musicians, and snake charmers, to entertain you along the way. You should definitely make time to visit some of the beaches like Taghazout or Mirleft and try out surfing or other water sports.

Jordan

Jordan is a wonderful place to visit and it is rich in cultural heritage and fabulous scenery.  The capital city Amman is a great place to start your journey. The ancient ruins of the Amman Citadel showcase the pillars of The Roman Temple of Hercules and the 8th century Umayyad Palace.  No visit to Jordan is complete without a stop in Petra one of the world’s most famous archeological sites that is located in the southwestern part of the desert.  Be sure to have a soak in The Dead Sea and experience its healing properties.

Israel

A trip to Israel is a feast for the spiritual senses.  There are sacred sites for Islam, Judaism, and Christianity located throughout the city of Jerusalem that have been bringing pilgrims to the area for thousands of years.  Tel Aviv is located on the Mediterranean coast and it is known for its fabulous night life as well as Carmel Market where you it is expected that you barter with the venders.  The mountain fortress of Masada is a great place at dawn when you can watch the sun rise over the Dead Sea.
