I think you all know that Orlando is where you go if you want to visit the world’s best theme parks. When I first thought of Orlando I instantly thought of Disney because at that time it’s all I thought was there, but the truth is there’s so much to see and do in Orlando. There are plenty of attractions that the whole family will love. I say the family because there is no way that you can go on a holiday to Orlando without the kids! We’ve all seen those videos that go viral on YouTube when kids find out that their birthday or christmas present is a trip to Disney World – my kids had exactly the same reaction! It’s every kid’s dream.
If you go there for a couple of weeks like we did you can’t spend all your time at Disney World, so what you need to do is book a car rental in Orlando and tick off as much of the following list as you can!
I’ve already mentioned Disney and I don’t think I need to tell you just how good it is, so let me introduce you to a couple more that cannot be missed.
Legoland – I had been to Legoland back in the Uk with the kids and we all had a great time. But that trip didn’t prepare us for what we found in Orlando. This is a theme park done right, with Lego rides, the famous characters running around and more. I would say that this place is best for younger kids because my teenage son seemed to get a bit bored after a while.
Universal – Legoland is perfect for the younger kids, so I was a bit worried what they’d make of Universal – thankfully there was loads for them to enjoy. Universal Orlando might just be my number 1 theme park in the world. The places which were best for our tribe were the Marvel Island, Harry Potter attractions and also Jurassic Park. There were rides which the older kids could go on and more gentle rides for the younger kids. I loved that Universal was suitable for every age because it avoided having any arguments and tantrums.
Attractions That Aren’t Theme Parks
Don’t get blinded by all the amazing theme parks because there’s so much to see in Orlando. So once you’ve booked your rental car via Viajemos.com it is time to see what else is on offer.
Orlando Science Center – If you want to find the place where the locals take their kids for a fun day out it is here at the Orlando Science Center. We enjoyed it a lot because we were able to get out of the sun and humidity for a couple of hours. There’s so much to explore here and it is educational. One thing to note is that there’s only a Subaway to buy food, so plan on eating somewhere else.
Crayola Experience – Every kids will get their hands on some crayola crayons when they’re in KG, so you know that they will love a few hours here at the Crayola Experience. They’ll get to see how the crayons are made and also try their hand at making their own. The older kids will have a blast at the huge playground, the younger kids loved Toddler Town. When we said it was time to leave none of them wanted to go!
