Even though lockdowns due to the pandemic are getting lifted in many states, most of our favorite outdoor activities are still under a lot of restrictions. Watching movies and reading books has become a very common thing, and nowadays even the most introverted of us are feeling bored inside our homes. Luckily, there are many refreshing new activities to keep us busy and entertained. Here are a bunch of them for you to choose from.
Play an online game
The greatest thing about the internet is that it is filled with infinite possibilities. The best way to spend time online is not just binge-watching new shows or scrolling through your social media feed. Playing video games online is another good way of killing time. It is okay if you are not into playing heavy and expensive games on Xboxs and Playstations. Popular online games like solitaire challenge are simple and suitable for everyone. They are the best when it comes to keeping you busy and entertained throughout the day.

Host a movie watch party
With the theatres closed down, watching movies are only limited to streaming platforms. However, if you are looking to get that same feeling of watching movies with your friends, then it’s time to host a Netflix watch party. Gather your gang and start watching movies “together”, but without leaving your homes. There are plenty of Chrome extensions that allows you to sync your screens and watch your favorite movies together.
Summer cleaning
Summer brings a lot of heat and humidity. It creates the ideal environment for bacteria growth and the unwanted smell that follows. With plenty of time on your hands, now is the opportunity to do some summer cleaning. Take the opportunity to sanitize your home and everything in it. Just play some good music to get you started. Dust often and let the sunshine into your house through the windows. A clean and tidy home can also help you keep your immunity strong against harmful pathogens.
Start a DIY project
If you are thinking about doing something productive, then the best thing to do is to start a DIY project. Keep in mind that it should be about something that you have a great interest in. Many people start doing DIY projects so enthusiastically at first, but over time feel too bored and never completes it. So, make sure to take time when deciding on what you want to do. It does not need to be extravagant. Simple tasks like organizing your overflowing closet or rearranging your kitchen utensils are also productive. Try not to go for multiple tasks at the same time, as it may end up too much for you to handle.
Work on your garden
Another productive task to keep you engaged is working on your garden. It can be outdoors or indoors. Gardening has many other therapeutic qualities as well. It can help you stay calm and give you a lot of screen-free time. If you are doing it with your kids or other family members, it is also a great way to connect with them and spend time with them.
