Culture Trip – Remote Work From Home & Flexible Jobs

Within the last several years, remote work has become an essential part of the workforce. Below, we’ll talk about some of the best remote and flexible positions to work from home in.

Wants and Needs For Remote Work From Home & Flexible Jobs

In a new era of technology, remote work has become increasingly popular among today’s workforce. Workers from all generations have realized that many jobs can be done at least partially from home using modern technology, which has led more people to seek positions that offer flexibility with their scheduling. In fact, a majority of workers today claim they would leave their current fully in-person jobs if it meant finding a job that offered a hybrid or fully-remote schedule!

Remote work isn’t just about being able to work from your couch. Having the option to work from home often saves workers significantly in terms of time and money in transportation. If a worker lives 30 minutes from work, working from home at least two days per week saves that worker approximately two hours of driving. This adds up over time and can help substantially with gas costs and wear and tear on your vehicle.

However, not everyone can do remote or even hybrid work. Those that work physically-demanding jobs that do not require a computer will not be able to work from home in most circumstances. Those that typically work in an

office setting and use a computer, though, often can take some of their work home with them. The most important piece of this is to ensure you have the proper technology needed to work from home. This means having a computer, a stable internet connection, and a quiet place to work. You may also consider getting a Zoom background template, which can often appear more professional than showing your coworkers your living room behind you.

Computer Programmer

If you’re tech-savvy, you may want to consider a job in computer programming. Computer programmers help to write computer programs using computer languages. Some of these computer languages include Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, and C++. These individuals will also modify, test, and launch these codes after writing them to ensure they function properly. So, if you’ve ever used computer software before, thank a computer programmer!

Sales Representative

Remote sales representatives work similarly to in-person sales representatives. These individuals contact others to sell a product or service their company offers. For example, remote employees may try to sell products such as computer software, travel packages, and online subscriptions. Typically, sales representatives will foster relationships with customers to keep their customer list long-term. They will answer questions, persuade others to buy their product, and stay in touch with the customer to ensure they are satisfied with their services.

If you’ve ever watched a video with subtitles, you’ve observed the work of a transcriptionist! Transcriptionists are skilled at translating dictated speech into the written word. This job is particularly important for those that are hard of hearing, as it allows them to read the dialogue in movies, TV shows, and other videos. Transcription is also essential in the medical field, as medical scribes will transcribe their physician’s words into medical charts to ensure the patient does not forget any information from their exam.

Remote transcribers work primarily with video and may create scripts or subtitles for videos belonging to various individuals and companies.

Virtual Teacher

Love teaching but don’t love driving to school every day? Consider being a virtual teacher! Virtual teachers do all the same work as in-person teachers but without the drive. You’ll create lesson plans, teach lessons, answer student questions, work with students individually, and assess their learning with assignments and exams. They will also reach out to parents and guardians to discuss student progress and any issues that need to be addressed. There are many virtual schools that are hiring virtual teachers, so don’t be afraid to look outside of your local school district!

Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants do the same work as in-person assistants without the hassle of running around the office all day. These individuals help schedule meetings, manage appointments, answer emails, and perform other duties as assigned. In addition, they are often in frequent communication with their employer through email and Zoom, so now is the time to get yourself a Zoom background template! The more professionally you can represent your employer, the better (for both of you!).
