Two days in Las Vegas is at least one day short. But if two days is all that you have then follow the schedule given below and you will not miss out much.

You have to stay on The Strip. There are plenty of hotels to suit every budget. Do not forget to look for discount packages. I would recommend the Venetian for two reasons. It offers a lot of in-house attractions. It is not far from Downtown Vegas, where there is a lot to see and do.So let’s take a look at the undiscovered side of Vegas.

Day One

A good place to start is with the Mob Museum, officially named the National Museum of Organised Crime and Law Enforcement. Las Vegas had its origins in Mafia crime and this is the reason for the name Sin City. The Mob Museum is on Stewart Avenue and is full of the history of organised crime in the United States. Mobsters you will meet include famous names like Al Capone and Lucky Luciano. Las Vegas brings to mind an expanse of neon signs. Close by is the Neon Museum that displays more than 200 neon signs.

The next stop is Fremont Strip. The licensed casinos there outdate those on The Strip. The most famous one is Binion’s Horseshoe Casino. Binion’s Steakhouse offers the best beef steak in the world. Play at the tables there, because the ambience is different from the more glitzy casinos.

Then it is back to your hotel before the first night out. The Venetian offers a classy gaming environment. If you are a high roller then you can play table games at the high-limit salon. Blackjack, Baccarat and Roulette tables are set in a welcoming space. You can spin the reels at the slots arcade that has over 1000 machines. You will find the latest titles like Ghost Busters 4D, Game of Thrones: Fire & Blood and Lord of the Rings. For dinner you can choose from Asian, Italian or French cuisine.

Day Two

Hard Rock Café is something relatively new in Las Vegas. Be there in time for the Acoustic Breakfast. Breakfast options are served with unlimited Bloody Marys. Nick will entertain you with his own fusion songs based on the greats from the past 30 years. If you have not been to London then Madame Tussauds next to the Venetian cannot be missed. On display are the life-like waxworks of Vegas luminaries such as Bugsy Siegel, Elvis and the Rat Pack.

Beautiful in Purple.

There is much to see on The Strip by day as well. Each of the casinos offers its special attractions. The shopping arcade at the Venetian is a miniature Venice and the hotel offers the experience of gondola rides as well. Check out the erupting volcano and the rare white lions and trained dolphins at the Mirage. Sitting at the dancing fountain next to Bellagio will rest the mind and the feet. You should also take in the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandala Bay. All hotels on The Strip have fantastic restaurants. Have your lunch when and where it suits you.

Casino gambling was done on the first night. The second night has to be reserved for one of the magical stage shows. Cirque du Soleil hosts a number of different shows in the leading Las Vegas hotels. You can check out the schedule at the website and pick the one that you resonate with. The Beatles Love at the Mirage is recommended. It is a psychedelic journey back to the 1960s. Bazzar has unbelievable acrobatics.

The best view of The Strip by night is not from within. You have to be away from the lights and at a height. Round off your two-day Las Vegas stay with a ride on the 550 feet High Roller Ferris Wheel at the Linq Promenade. From the top you get the best view of the neon lit hotels and casinos on The Strip. If you are still not satisfied then go all the way to the top of the Stratosphere Tower. It gives a dazzling view from a height of over 1,100 feet. For those suffering from vertigo there is an observation deck at an intermediate level.

Final Recommendation

It is best to plan your Las Vegas holiday in advance to get the best hotel rates. The Cirque du Soleil shows need to be booked beforehand as well. In fact you should buy entry for whatever is possible online in order to avoid standing in queues. Two days is short and to waste time waiting would be disappointing.

Once you’ve finished this whirlwind trip it is time to start planning your next destination! If you’re looking for something a bit different to Vegas but still full of thrills and fun I recommend Florida, here you can enjoy everything from Walt Disney World to Universal Orlando.
