Australia is a unique place to visit. It has so much to offer, and it is no surprise that many people have this destination on their bucket list.

As Australia works toward reopening its borders, it’s time to start planning and preparing for your next adventure. Visiting the great Down Under is a once-in-a-lifetime experience for many travelers, primarily due to being so far that most people claim it’s located at the edge of the world.

However, one trip isn’t nearly enough to experience Uluru, Kangaroo Island, the Great Barrier Reef, The Great Ocean Road, and Sydney Harbor, not to mention the most wonderful Tasmania, the Coral Coast, Perth, or Adelaide. Before you start worrying, we can help you by pointing out the most amazing experiences that Australia offers.

Sydney and the northern beaches

Sydney is a perfect destination for people who love a good combination of local hip and international glam. Aside from offering one of the world’s greatest cityscapes, Sydney is home to many amazing wonders such as the Opera House and Harbor Bridge.

However, for those looking for something a bit more, the swanky villas on the northern beaches might just fit the bill. The further south or north you venture along the coast, the more natural beauty you discover. Tourists don’t go far when exploring beaches, and if you’re here for nature alone, we recommend the Blue Mountains, Port Stephens, and Bondi, or Sydney Beach.

The Mornington Peninsula and Melbourne

Many travelers give up on visiting Melbourn just because someone told them it is in the suburbs. However, they don’t know that Melbourne is interconnected with all individual centers and business districts around it.

Melbourne is a famous Victorian city with incredible architecture, unique food culture, and urban chic that you won’t find anywhere else. Our recommendations include visiting the Mornington Peninsula as the best nearby escape with notable seaside towns and daring Winelands resorts.

The Great Ocean Road

If you decide to visit the Great Ocean Road, one of the best destinations in Australia, make sure you pay a visit to Philips Island and the Twelve Apostles. After that, we recommend visiting one of those hip beach towns like Robe or Lorne or considering taking a tour around Kent and Abercrombie for some sightseeing.

Adelaide

Adelaide is a big country town where you discover all sorts of unique drinks and foods. However, the cuisine isn’t the main reason why we mention Adelaide. It’s Adelaide Hills that you should include in your walkabout. Aside from breathtaking natural wonders, real estate, and exquisite food experiences, Adelaide is famous for its alternative arts.

Adelaide can show you what true Australia is about – Outback, Bush, and Winelands as long as the eye can see. There are also the Flinders and Lake Eyre, while you can also rent a luxury motorhome and pay a visit to Southern Sights, Kangaroos, and Wine.

The Wild West Coast and Perth

If you ask us, we’d say that Perth doesn’t get nearly enough credit for what it is. Aside from being one of the most exciting and historically valuable cities in Australia, Perth offers incredible natural sights, including the beautiful and mesmerizing turquoise waters of Geraldton and Shark Bay, the Pink Lake, the Coral Coast, and Rottnest Island. For starters, you can take a 16-day tour around Fremantle, Perth, and the Coral Coast.

Brisbane and Byron

Queensland’s capital offers a wide variety of things to see and do to detain travelers from all over the world. There is the flashy and buzzy Gold Coast, and if you continue up south, you’ll encounter the rural, almost hippy harmony of the Tweed Valley and Byron Bay. If you’re after real natural attractions, the Gold Coast is must-see.

How to stay safe while visiting Australia

Before you book your flight and pack your things, let’s briefly review some of the crucial tips for staying safe while exploring the wonders of Australia:

  • Wear sunscreen as the Australian sun can be incredibly strong.
  • Always stay hydrated, and make sure you have light, breathable clothing, sunglasses, and a good sunhat.
  • Even though the crime rate is low in Australia, you’ll still need to keep your belongings in a safe place. Additionally, each country has its set of problems when it comes to locals attempting to trick tourists. Thus, learn about the common scams that affect travelers.
  • Do some research to prepare yourself for the Outback. Even though it offers an epic landscape, it is easy to get lost in the wilderness that covers thousands of miles.
  • Always use a VPN on your travels as you’ll want to stay in touch with your friends, loved ones, and family. Since you’ll need public Wi-Fi networks to get online, use tools like Atlas VPN to encrypt your connection and keep your data safe from prying eyes. Thus, connect to secure servers before joining free Wi-Fi networks at your hotel or other local establishments.

Traveling to Australia can be a memorable and exciting experience, but it does require some preparation. There are also certain local dangers that you need to understand to make sure you take all the precautions you need to stay safe Down Under.
