We’ve all got that go to shop when we’re in need of a good look, a place where we know they’ll have exactly what we’re after. For me, that shop is Gant and it has been since I left school. I always remember the first blue cotton shirt I got from them, I think I wore it at every opportunity because it was by far the best thing in my wardrobe! Thankfully as I grew older I was able to buy more quality clothes from Gant, I continue to do that to this day.
If you’re looking for the ultimate preppy look that oozes style then Gant is all you need and more. I was reminded of that recently when I picked up some GANT slim fit chinos to finish off an outfit I’m getting ready for the spring/summer parties. As with many of the items I’ve bought they didn’t cost me an arm and a leg, but they do deliver real quality and there’s always a size that fits me perfectly. Do you guys have any Gant clothing in your wardrobe? I’d love to hear from those who do and which is your favourite – just pop your comments in the box below!
I could wax lyrical for hours about just how good the clothes are from Gant (I will do in another post), but what I really want to write about today is the work they are doing to help the planet and be a sustainable brand. I was blown away when I read that the aim for 2020 is to use around 80% of sustainably sourced materials in their clothes – that’s a remarkable figure and something that we should applaud.
In this day and age we are more than aware of the global challenges we are facing, so I am thrilled that my favourite clothing brand is leading the way in the fashion industry when it comes to sustainability. Gant hasn’t just put out their aim for 2020, these guys are going big and have set some impressive targets. If you don’t believe me then check this out:
2022 – GANT´s cotton will be 100% sustainably sourced
2025 – GANT will reduce its water use in manufacturing by 50%
2025 – GANT’s key materials will be 100% sustainably sourced
2030 – GANT will reduce its climate footprint by 30% throughout all operations
I firmly believe that we should be investing companies that are doing their bit for the planet, we all know that things must change and supporting those that embrace it will make others follow suit. So I know that when I wear my Gant chinos this spring, I’ll not only look good but I’ll feel good too knowing that my outfit has been sustainably sourced.
