We’re in unprecedented times and it seems that the world has been turned on its head in recent months. The coronavirus has had an impact on us all and it has meant that we’ve all had to take a long break from our normal day to day lives.

I’m pretty sure that everyone reading this post is or has been in self quarantine at home under orders from the government. It might not be the best of times having to spend time locked up at home but we all know that it’s essential for this to pass and our lives to get back to some kind of normal.

As we’re not used to spending so much time confined at home and without regular interaction with others it is important to take care of ourselves. Here are 3 things I have made sure to spend time maintaining or improving each day. 

Your Mind

We’ve got to take care of our minds at a time like this. Anxiety is likely to increase when we aren’t going about our normal lives, it may also mean that we aren’t talking to people as much or sharing our thoughts and troubles. An easy way to do this is by online therapy, if you haven’t tried it then you should, read more about it and I’m sure you’ll see how much it will help.

Your Body

I know that I have been over indulging, eating too much chocolate or enjoying too many glasses of wine everyday. It seems like it is so easy to become complacent right now with exercise and keeping in shape, in reality we have loads of time. It’s easy to do a home workout each day, there are plenty online courses to follow and they’ll keep you active. Shedding those pounds is also good for your general mood too. I’d recommend taking a look at the Body Coach, he’s doing a daily workout on YouTube. If you are allowed out and about then make sure you go for a walk, get those 10,000 steps in each day guys!

Your Surroundings

Now we’re spending so much time at home there’s never been a better opportunity to organise and make sure our homes are in good nick. We have so much time to do any repairs that we’ve been ignoring, decorate a room to brighten it up or even think about putting up some pictures/paintings to give your living space a new lease of life. Your home should be a place where you can relax, feel comfortable and like spending time.
