One of my favourite countries has always been Morocco. For one thing, you can’t beat the food, the hospitality or the scenery and on top of that, it’s incredibly easy on the wallet for the quality you get in terms of activities and accommodation available. Not only this, but Morocco has a whole host of great cities and towns to explore and experience and keeps you guessing at every turn, whether you’re in Rabat, Casablanca, Fes, Marrakech or elsewhere.

On my most recent trip to Morocco I stayed at an amazing hotel called Paradis Plage in Tagazhout, a unique little town along the Atlantic Coast, near to Agadir. The town itself is well worth a visit, but if you really want to treat yourself, stay at Paradis Plage. Here’s my own experience.

The Rooms

The rooms at Paradis Plage are, in a word, stunning. Each room is more like its own separate apartment with small kitchenette area, fridge, seating area ad sea views. It is the perfect home away from home for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger Moroccan cities for awhile and onto the beach. The rooms are immaculately clean, spacious and allow for a lot of natural light to flood in, so they’re bright and comfortable, and immediately easy to relax into. The private balconies are ideal for those who want to get away from the crowds for a bit and relax over a beer or cocktail in their own space.

With colourful decor, an ensuite bathroom with all the modern amenities and bright, intriguing artwork throughout, it’s easy for me to say that Paradis Plage has been one of my favourite hotel experiences in Morocco. The beds were incredibly plush and comfortable and I slept like a baby throughout my stay.

Facilities

The facilities at Paradis Plage couldn’t be better. Advertised as a yoga and surf resort, it’s all that and more. Multiple yoga classes are on offer as well as surfing if you’re into either. If you aren’t though, it’s no matter. You can easily while away the hours soaking up the sun poolside, sipping delicious cocktails made at the bar. A short drive into the city can be arranged through the reception, but if you’d rather just hang around the property, there’s ample things for you to do.

If you don’t feel like fighting the waves of the ocean, you can take a dip in the onsite outdoor swimming pool. Four onsite restaurants can offer up almost anything to suit your fancy from European cusine to Moroccan and more. Breakfast is served everyday and is included with the room. After dinner you can head out to the outdoor fireplace area to exchange stories and meet fellow travellers or you can head to the bar for a pre-bedtime drink. Check out the onsite cinema for a relaxing evening.

Travellers with children needn’t worry about keeping the kids entertained. There’s a whole host of activities for the kids including beach games, board games, cinema time and more so the parents can enjoy their yoga without worry. The onsite spa is the perfect way to wind down at the end of the day, offering a whole number of great services and treatments including a traditional Moroccan hammam, a must try.

There’s even a zen garden with hammocks onsite, the perfect area for just kicking back and reading a book or lazing the day away in the sun.

Location

Set in a real oasis on the seafront near Taghazout, Paradis Plage is a piece of heaven found in the unforgiving desert. An hour away from Agadir Airport, about 150km from Essouira, just north of Tagazhout.

Why I Recommend Staying At Paradis Plage

If you like relaxation and just general wellbeing, Paradis Plage is the place for you. The yoga, surfing, the healthy meals cooked onsite and the attention to detail that the staff ensure to follow all make it one of the most beautifully balanced properties I’ve stayed in. Even if you aren’t up for doing much in the way of activities, you will have no trouble relaxing and whiling away the hours either on the beach, poolside with cocktail in hand or in a hammock reading your favourite books. Come see for yourself just why this hotel deserves the name ‘Paradis’.

So the next time you’re looking for the ultimate in beach getaways, consider heading to Paradis Plage in Tagazhout. You really won’t be disappointed at the prospect of staying in a beachside oasis with access to the amazing facilities on offer. Come and see for yourself.
