With the upcoming winter everyone is always thinking about a great place to get away, especially because it can be so cold and dark. This is not always conducive to a good mood, so soaking up some sun and getting some vitamin D in the wintertime is more than welcome. I decided to make a short guide on a few of the best winter sun destinations .
The Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are an ideal winter sun destination, especially because they have an average winter temperature around about 20 degrees Celsius. This is perfect because it it not too hot compared to where you will be coming from and is only a few hours flight away from Europe, which is a big plus. Tenerife, the largest of the islands, is my personal favourite of all these destinations. I especially like beaches and the Teide National Park, which is a volcano that sits in the middle of the island and has given life to the region through its unique plant life from the fertile volcanic soil.
Morocco is another great destination this winter due to its great all year round temperatures and its close proximity to Europe. The country is highly diverse with high mountains, vast desert plains and stunning coastline. It truly is a place that keeps on giving, not only as a winter destination, but also a summer one too! I personally enjoyed going on a desert camp, which can be as basic or as luxurious as you want it to be. It is truly a unique experience that everyone visiting Morocco should have. I also enjoyed the amazing feeling of wandering around the Marrakesh Bazaar, which is a bustling maze of stalls that are filled with all kinds of treasures to buy, like rugs, leather goods, exotic spices and even love potions! Morocco is one of my absolute favourite summer sun destinations.
Vietnam is one of my personal favourites in term s of summer sun destinations . The great temperature and ample sun makes this a perfect destination all year round. I especially enjoy the amazing Vietnamese food and this is some of the tastiest in all of Asia. The country has its own unique and interesting culture that comes from its division and war. There really is nothing better than taking a boat in Ha Long Bay or navigating the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City on a motorbike. Vietnam has some stunning beauty and at a great price point.
