Siam Amazing Park – Bangkok’s Best Theme Park?
Bangkok is an international metropolis full of shopping malls, movie theatres and Starbucks but a (completely nonsense) common complaint about Bangkok is that often there are just too many things to fit into your Bangkok Itinerary. Well, I’m here to make that worse. Siam Amazing Park is a little known (at least to foreigners) theme park in Bangkok.
So if you find yourself with a day to spare make your way over to Siam Amazing City, Bangkok’s (and Thailand’s) best theme park. But before you do, let’s have a look if it’s worth the effort, and entrance price
Table of contents
Where is Siam Amazing Park
Siam Amazing Park is way north of the city. If you’re staying the city centre, or Khao San Road area, figure on a taxi for 30-45 minutes. That should cost roughly $10USD. Not bad.
How Much Are Tickets for Siam Amazing Park?
Tickets are available HERE. It’s 900THB ($25). It’s easier to buy online in advance, but it’s no cheaper.
Siam Amazing Park Map
Siam Amazing Park is pretty big! And there are different sections to the park, so check out the SIam Amazing Park map here to help you plan your day better.
The park is broken down into 6 zones. The standard ticket gives you access to all the rides, unlimited. In every section, including the waterpark.
- Water World: The largest waterpark in Asia!
- Adventure World: Normal theme park rides
- Family World: For families and not-so-small kids
- Xtreme World: The big rides
- Small World: For young kids
Facilities at Siam Amazing Park
Dont worry, Siam Amazing Park has everything you need! From Towel rental, to beach chair rental, showers and changing rooms, and even a swimewear shop in case you forgot your stuff for the water park section of the park!
It also has LOADS of restaurants and cafes too, so no need to bring snacks unless you’re watching your pennies.
Dreamworld or Siam Amazing Park? Which is better?
You may have heard people talking about Dreamworld in Bangkok too. The city’s second theme park. Dream world is 600THB ($18) but it’s the poor relation, to be honest. That’s despite the fact that DreamWorld seems to get all the plaudits but wrongly so.
Their rides are substandard and I’ve had more excitement doing my groceries on a Tuesday night in England than throughout my time at DreamWorld, so stay clear and instead head to Siam Amazing City. Or do both and judge for yourself.
My experience at Siam Amazing Park
When I went, the ticket prices could vary a lot but a day pass, whereby you purchase the ticket and then don’t have to pay to go on individual rides started at 800 Baht on promotion with ID stating you are under 25, then it ranges up to a maximum of 900 baht per adult ($30 USD) although it’s rare that they have no promotion applicable to you. Expect to pay around 600 baht ($20 USD) for the full day price if you’re lucky.
So how was it? Was Siam Amazing City worth the taxi ride and a day of my time! Well, I’m a sucker for a good theme park. Alton Towers and Thorpe Park in the UK, Hershey park and Dorney Park in the USA. I can’t get enough so my expectations were high.
I’d say remember that this is not a western theme park, it’s a little rough around the edges with the general housekeeping being a bit lax and the grounds aren’t huge, so the rides are bunched quite close together. That being said the actual rides are great and are comparable to what you’ll be used to back home.
Check out the giant drop, Vortex, Boomerang, and the unpredictably good Danceshake. You won’t be disappointed.
I had an awesome day out here and would definitely recommend it to anyone with a day free in Bangkok. Food and drinks aren’t extortionately priced like at home, people are running around with huge smiles and the sun is almost always shining. And besides, theme parks are for adrenaline junkies right?! Well, you’re not likely to a much better adrenaline hit than from a rollercoaster which may actually cause your death!* Happy travels!
*Only joking 😛 They may look a little worse for wear but these rides are safe as houses, strap yourself in and enjoy!
Should you go?
I wouldn’t come to Bangkok just to go here, the way some people go to Orlando specifically for a theme park. BUT, if you live in Thailand it’s well worth a day. Or if you’re semi-obsessed with theme parks, and you’re passing through, then yeah sure, why not. I think perhaps a visit to Damnoen Saduak floating market, or the Mae Klong Train Market are more famous, or a night on the town in Bangkok are more traditional ways of spending time in Bangkok. But loads of people love theme parks, so you do you! Enjoy!
