The city of Rome is a relic of an ancient civilization. The city combines the romantic vibes of greater Italy with historical attractions. Hundreds of people flock to the city every year to see some of the finest ruins in Europe. People also love the city for its strong sense of history and incredible cuisine. If you are considering a trip to Rome, there has never been a better time to do so. The city is the heart of Italy and, as such, there are many things to see and learn in this intriguing destination.

Rome has existed for almost 3000 years. That makes it one of the oldest civilizations in the western world. Much of the architecture and buildings are ancient in the city. Other ruins that you may want to visit include the Capitoline Hill, the Baths of Diocletian and the Palatine Hill. These ruins range from religious to business structures and offer a glimpse at ancient Rome. You should set aside an entire day or evening to visit the ruins. There are many fine clubs in Rome. Many people are unaware of the incredible nightlife that the city has to offer. For young travelers, the city is an ideal escape from the rest of the world. Travelers can experience both cultural and modern sides of life. The club scene in Rome is rich, yet expensive. You will find that many of the clubs within the city have large entrance fees, and the drinks will also be expensive to buy. If you are planning a night on the town, you should make sure that you have enough money to do so. Even drinking at local bars during the evening will cost you a great deal.

One of the best bars in the city has to be Beba do Samba. The club is where many of the young Italians in the city go to listen to unique jazz music. There is often live music in the club, which means that you can catch a band while you are drinking. Other favorite bars include the aptly named BarBar and La Palma. In La Palma, you will often see live DJ sets, and the crowd is young.



Italian cuisine is one of the best styles of food in the world. The Italian people are serious about cooking. As a result of this fact, you will find that you can have some delicious meals whilst in Rome. Make sure that you opt for authentic style restaurants. Many of the main eateries boost their prices for tourists, and so you could spend a small fortune on an average meal.

There are plenty of pizzerias in the city, and so you should try some authentic pizza whilst you are there. You might also want to try a family-centric restaurant, such as La Tavernaccia. There you can try some home-cooking style dishes including lasagna and fish dishes. Make sure you tip when you buy a meal in Rome. It is custom to tip about 15% of the total bill.


Art and Galleries

There are plenty of museums and art galleries in Rome that you should visit whilst you are in the city. The Italian people have an innate love for beauty. That means that many of the attractions in the city are of great aesthetic style. Make sure that you visit Cinecittà Studios where you can learn about the history of cinema. The attraction is home to many incredible pieces, such as sets from Cleopatra. You might also want to visit the church by the name of Sant’Ignazio, where you can see some fascinating religious art pieces. Make sure that you take the time to appreciate great art in Rome. The city has a wealth of art history that is worth investigating.
