If you’re visiting Canada, make sure that Montreal makes your list of cities to see. In this culturally diverse city, nearly everyone is bilingual and you’ll find so many ways to spend your time. If you’re looking for a place to stay, the Days Inn Montreal is the perfect jumping-off point for your adventure here. Check out these sights and activities to make your time in Montreal as memorable as possible:

Explore the city by foot

Montreal is a great city to walk in, so get some exercise and see the sights from the ground. Start out by walking up the Mont-Royal, a hill that also offers a bus service if you’re feeling a bit less physically ambitious. Once you reach the top, you can get great views of the city from the Belvedere Observatory. Back down in the city, St. Paul Street is a great walk to take in the atmosphere of Montreal. Here you’ll pass tons of shops, cafes, bars and art galleries to stop in as you like.

Visit the Notre Dame Basilica

As far as actual sights go in Montreal, this is one that you definitely shouldn’t miss. The Basilica here in Montreal is one of the most ornate and elaborate in the country, built in a gothic style that’s impressive enough from the outside. But once you step foot inside the cathedral, get ready for your breath to be taken away. The elaborate decor and gorgeous details of the interior can hardly be rivaled.

Shop Vintage on Boulevard Saint-Laurent

If you like shopping, Montreal is a great city because it offers something for every style and preference. If you like high-end brands, you can find those stores, just as well as secondhand shops and mid-ranged prices. On Boulevard Saint-Laurent, you’ll find vintage shops to satisfy the hipster in you! From 60’s dresses to vintage accessories and bags, take home something unique at a bargain price.

Eat Poutine

This Canadian specialty is especially popular in Montreal, so you have to give it a try while you’re here. Poutine might not look like the most appetizing dish when it first arrives, but you’ll be amazed how addicting the flavor of french fries, gravy and gooey white cheese can be!

Visit the Science Center

Whether you’re traveling with kids or not, the Science Center is a fascinating and entertaining way to spend a day in Montreal. Their permanent collection is great, and they’ve also hosted the famous Bodies exhibit and a Star Wars adventure, along with many other great exhibitions. It’s the perfect place to satisfy the science lover in anyone!
