Just got back from my OneStep4Ward group trip in Turkmenistan. What an epic week.

Turkmenistan is one of the least visited countries in the world. Tricky to get into (that’s where I come in!) but super safe. It’s also home to the GATES OF HELL! And… bad news folks - they’re closing!

Im going to be announcing dates for 2025 for next years Turkmenistan trips asap, and if it was ever in your bucket list, act quickly. They have a team of engineers on the ground activity trying to shut it down as we speak 😮

The last week though? So so so much fun. God I love group travel. Epic old friends and epic new ones. Can’t wait for the next trip. December to mauritania ❤️🇹🇲

I grew up in Northern Ireland, but I left at 18, never to live there again. The older I get the more I appreciate what I left behind. What a spot.

Hopefully this will jog a few memories for any fellow Northern Irish diaspora out there.

Before the world of adventure changed me forever…

I left Northern Ireland when I was 18. I spent 16 years old those 18 years in a lovely little town called Kilkeel, in County Down. Having recently turned 40 the older I get the more I appreciate my childhood.

There’s something about Northern Ireland and the culture that stays with you, keeps you grounded. The warmth of the people, the hearty food (maybe the 300 days of rain a year?!).

I haven’t been back in the best part of a decade, and now I’ve built my mum this house in Thailand, i didn’t know when I’d get a chance to return.

I’m moving to a new chapter of my life and the universe has thrown me an opportunity to reconnect with my home country, my home town, and hopefully some old friends.

I have 5 days. 2 days in my home town of Kilkeel, a day in Newcastle (to climb Donard, Northern Ireland’s highest peak) then time for a day or 2 in Belfast to sign it off. I can’t wait to honest. If anyone is around the next few days, please message me 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I can’t wait for to hear the accents, see the Mourne Mountains, the Irish Sea, old friends, (some real
Guinness!)

I’ve been blogging since 2009 (!), and travelling the world pretty hardcore since 2007.

It’s been a wild life to be honest, and working for yourself, with all the successes and endless failures, you never know what is around the corner.

When I do any public speaking stuff, I often discuss “shiny object syndrome”. It’s so common place both in our current era, but even more so when you try to earn money online. People jumping from Blogging, to crypto, to TikTok, to Amazon FBA, to online courses.

Whatever new thing they hear about, that’s the way! For me, partly because I’ve got the tech skills and creativity skills of donkey, I always preach to stay consistent. Trust the process - for fitness, for entrepreneurship, for wealth building. And I believe I’ve done that. Eventually you will reap what you sow 🙏🏼

With that, I’ve just spent the last week in Istanbul filming a pilot for a travel TV show. If it gets the green light, I’ll let you guys know!

Also, filming was way out of my comfort zone. I was awful the first few days (sorry to the team, and thank you for sticking with me!). And the work loads? Woaaah. These guys work ridiculously hard, insane hours, both physical graft and creative brain power. I certainly had no idea what goes into this stuff. I do know.
