Hong Kong probably has the best themed parks that are bound to add some exciting days to your well planned vacation irrespective of what age you are! Watch these places light up beautifully during those special occasions and festivals adding to the thrill and magnificence of the place.

Here’s your guide to the best theme parks of Hong Kong!

 

  • Hong Kong Disneyland:

 

This park is a themed resort spread over 126 hectares of land and is based on the Disneyland in California. The place has two hotels and four themed lands. The best attraction that you’ll expect to see here is during the special occasions of New Year, Christmas and Halloween.

You can take the thrilling roller coaster rides, boat journeys to fairyland, live Disney shows, go to the Mystic Manor, Grizzly Gulch township or Andy’s backyard in Toy Story! You can also explore the Fantasyland with your very own fairy godmother and journey through those childhood stories of princesses and queens. And how can we forget the Adventure lands of Tarzan and The Lion King!

How to get there: The place opens at 10 in the morning till 7:30 in the evening and is just 20 minutes away from Hong Kong International Airport in Lantau Island. You can also take a 30 minute MTR from Central in Hong Kong.

 

  • Ocean Park:

 

Attracting millions of visitors throughout the year, Ocean’s park of Hong Kong is the biggest animal themed park located in the southern district of Hong Kong. It has more attractions than the Disneyland there.

The park’s entrance consists of a giant aquarium. You’ll find rare species of pandas living in their artificially created habitats. A cable car takes you to the amusement part where you have some thrilling rides and also you can find some souvenirs at the arcade centre. You’ll find multi cuisine restaurants and various food joints. There are some ocean themed jewelry and toy shops as well!

 

The second largest escalator in the world gives you a beautiful view of the South

China Sea which is probably one of the best attractions there. The place looks

splendid specially during Christmas and Halloween. You’ll find some special

educational programs for the children and you can really expect an amazing

family time.

 

How to get there: Opening hours for this park varies with seasons. You can

easily get there by bus. A special bus service is provided from Admiralty MTR

station and Central Pier to the park.

 

  • Grand Resort Deck:

 

This is the only water themed park in Hong Kong surrounded by the magnificent Ritz Carlton Macau and JW Marriot Macau Hotels. It has some of the most exciting amusements like the wave pool that is the largest in the world, You could choose from many options from slides, kid’s zone or even the lazy river rides.

How to get there: It is located in Galaxy Macau and opens from 8 in the morning and is located at one of the landmarks out there.

 

  • Noah’s Ark:

 

This place is known for its uniqueness and is a religious themed park built by a number of Christian organizations. Another attraction here is the Tsing Ma Bridge beside which this park is located. The park is built on foundations of the themes of love, optimism and family.

The place has the replica of Noah’s ark which is the largest and probably one of its kind! The beautiful bridge of Tsing Ma can be seen from here which has some exotic animal sculptures.

The Ark expo is one of the main attractions here where you can watch presentations and short movies of the great journey in the Noah’s ark. The Ark garden has some of the most exotic handcrafted animal sculptures with ponds and waterfalls.

How to get there: This place opens up by 10 in the morning. To get here you can take a ferry ride to Ma Wan for 25 minutes or the circular Park Island Bus from the airport.

  1. Snoopy’s World:

Snoopy’s World in Hong Kong is an amusement park in New Town Plaza which is a splendid complex with three magnificent plazas in Sha Tin. A nine storey tower located centrally consisting of shops, restaurants, movie places, gardens and themed fun zones for kids. It also consists of Hong Kong’s IKEA store.

Shopping here is an event actually! It could take from few hours to even few days with nine floors to cover. It has some to the best brands like Dior Beauty, Orbis, Mioggi for beauty and health, Wood, Focus, Dreamscape for fashion and a lot of other brands for bags, footwear and even sports and fitness.

Dining at New Town Plaza means you get to choose from different cuisines and you just have to name it. There are some very trendy food places where food is affordable and mostly of the casual dining sorts. The Spaghetti House, Parkview, Maxim’s palace are some of the few places there.

The New Town Plaza attracts kids! There is Snoopy’s world for the smaller ones where they get to explore Snoopy’s house and take canoe rides and Jumpin’ Gym amusements for older kids. The place has multiple screen movie theatre and provides great relaxation at the roof garden which has a musical fountain!

How to get there: Newtown Plaza opens from 10 almost every day. You can take the MTR East Rail Line or a bus to Sha Tin MTR.
